John Helme grew up spending time in his perfectionist father’s furniture workshop. Having had an extensive education and career in engineering, he has returned to furniture making. He has benefited from his father’s thirty years experience, whilst running his own business over the past two years.

Daniel Critchley is an inventor. He constantly comes up with new ideas and designs for furniture and ways of making it. This combined with his natural artistic flare and formal training in Cabinet Making results in some of the highest quality furniture around. Dan ran his own cabinet making business for seven years before teaming up with John to form Eduro Furniture.

Ethics

Based in the Lake District, we appreciate our beautiful surroundings and as such are keen to have a minimal impact on them and the environment.

We use wood from sustainable forests and keep waste to a minimum – never throwing away a piece of wood if it may have a use. The slate we use is locally sourced from small industry specialising in stone for worktops. The wood that doesn’t make it into furniture is used for heating; sawdust finds its way to gardens for compost or is used for animal bedding. We only use FSC certified timber, and our production and delivery methods are also environmentally sound.
